Tradescantias (wandering jews) root quickly. Push them on the soil and a couple of days later they take root. Aerial roots from the aroid vines usually take a good couple of weeks to get a good anchor in.

Dont the aerial roots still take in water? Ok I'll get pictures up tomorrow.~Michael
The aerial roots take in extra moisture but are usually there to just anchor the plant on where it grows i.e. walls, tree trunks. You'll notice soon enough that new white roots will soon pop out from those aerial roots
