Hello all, I had two tomato frogs. They were housed separately and in different areas of the same room.
They both died very suddenly and only one day apart.
This seemed so incredibly bizarre to me, and I'm wondering what happened.
I am sure that all of the temperatures and humidity were correct, so I don't believe that it was those factors.
One thing that I noticed was that they seemed to both be in very odd positions!!
When the first one was found he was in a position that almost seemed as though he was mid jump.
The second one was sitting in his water dish with one leg extended behind him and both of his arms over the edge of the dish with crossed toes like he was posing!!
I am just thinking this all seems very weird! the crickets that were in each tank were all alive as well so we didn't think it could be an environmental thing! any input would be greatly appreciated!
nothing?
Hello and welcome to FF! Sorry about your frog's death. Only way to tell what killed your frogs accurately is to have a Herp Vet conduct a necropsy on them. Other than that; have you changed anything in their enclosures or care routine lately. Also, any chemicals or deodorizers used in the frog room recently?
In regards to the dead frog "posing" positions; does anyone with a sick sense of humor has access to your frogs?
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
