    - In captivity they are not poisonous. Dart frogs derive their toxins from diet, and a captive diet of fruit flies doesn't possess the alkaloids necessary to make the toxins.

    -Thats a bummer. Until very recently (a few years I think) they (all Dendrobatids) were "illegal" to own in CT as well. The justification was basically the same, they fell under a "dangerous wildlife" law. Hopefully the situation will improve where you are. Is it just Phyllobates that are illegal? Have you talked to Mark Pepper at Understory? He may have some idea about the legal situation.

    I did not talk to mark but i did talk to Elaine about the availability of their frogs. Ill maybe
    give them a quick e-mail about the legal ownership of the frogs, Thank goodness its only
    the one that's illegal I hope i could possibly get ahold of some frogs!
