So I ordered a very nice Zoo Med 18x18x24 tank from PetSolutions at Amazon.com..it took forever to get here, not to mention I just got it about a half hour ago..and of all the shipping methods they chose to ship the thing UPS...is it not common sense that you just should not ship fragile glass things UPS? I thought this was common knowledge..I guess not, well..anyways I didnt even have to open it to know it was broken, the UPS guy is a family friend and all he had to do was tilt the large box to the side and all you heard was the shatter and smashing of glass pieces shifting from one side to the other..it was rediculous..

Did I mention this is the tank I got for an anniversary present? And Im planning to get the frog(s) for the tank a week from tomorrow. Which the lady with customer service at PetSolutions said it would take till Tuesday to even start the damage claim..Im reasonable I can understand that no prob, its a weekend and Monday is a holiday, what got me is..It would be over a week from Tuesday that I would even recieve a new tank, well that makes me shoot out of luck for a surprise waiting for my boyfriend. *sighs*

So I call back and the lady I spoke to was rude, I swear, I was nicer and more polite to her than she was to me. Im a very reasonable person, I really am, I have a hard time being rude to anyone but this lady I swear..So she says I cant even get my money back until the claim passes which wont even be started until this Tuesday..Im just very upset guys..this is our 3 year anniversary and this was my huge surprise for him..to have the tank set up before we leave..like the night before and hide it in the garage then go to the show the next day surprise him and buy him a frog(s) then come home and surprise him with the tank!!! *sighs*

Sorry for the rant, its just, i was nicer to the customer service lady than she was with me, which i found horrible..and that made me even more upset. Im not saying dont buy from them, im saying...if you live on the west coast..i.e. California..dont buy anything big expensive made of glass from them.

Hmm what I do when someone is incompetent I badger the person. Also Iam sure thats against the law somehow. If they dont let you return it that is. If you bought something that they garanteed then I think it maybe breaching a law. Maybe false advertisement? Agreed. You do not ship fragile stuff through ups. Try getting your familys friend to help you with this one. Maybe he has a solution? In any case it shouldnt even take a long time to ship if they promised a certain date(which alot of sellers do that). In any case just go to amazon and give her a bad rep. Write some reviews and I guess just keep badgering her. Thats all I can come up with. Sorry about your loss. Try telling her you dont want a replacement but you want a full refund including tax and shipment costs. Take pictures of the package and keep evidence just in case anything fishy goes on. Make sure to get emails from her too. Keep t he receipt and everything. What id do is just go to a store and buy one from there. Petsmart actually carries them. Every petsmart where I live carries them. So Iam sure there must be atleast one store that carries that item. Or you can order from Dr.foster and smith. Ived heard good reviews from people about them. My friend just bought some filters fromt here and it came perfect. so you may have some luck with them. for future referance. Dont buy from amazon, ebay, or craigslist if you cant seethe item personally.

All you can do is wait and see or just buy one from another place.
