I would do fire bellied toads. I know they are not exotic but they are so social! think how cool you could make it!!!! (just a thought) ~michael

It's an idea, I saw a whole tank filled with fire bellied toads at the last reptile show and they were cheap too.
what are you planning to do with it (more water more land) live plants fake plants the possibilities are endless! I just like FBT because they are small and social and active. (I might need to get some I haven't had them for a long time...)~michael
Looks like red eyed tree frogs on the list too now.
Agreed with Gary! im a FBT fan as well!, At the pet store i work at we have a 55 gallon divided 40/60
land to water ratio and have a bunch of aquatic plants and have pothos, pepperomia and all sorts of
plants, ill see if i can get a pic later![]()

Hmm, well I should probably choose between the fire bellied toads, the red eyed tree frogs and the cane toad in that case. Sure show me your pics. I probably won't do much with live plants with the 55 gal setup because it'll probably be in the basement /dark place.
pothos would do good even in a dark place. what type of light would you have? ~michael
At best I would have a single florescent light fixture with a grow lux type bulb. I've tried growing plants in a basement before, you need a lot of light. I had a plant die off that polluted my whole tank before.
pothos would do fine in that light situation (i think) They don't need almost anything to survive and their cheep so if they did die it would not be a loss. your tank is going to look great ~michael
