Why not produce your own fruit flies?

Get a small jar, place a piece of overripe banana inside, cover it with an old stocking or very fine mesh (needle-sized holes if possible), fix it on top of the jar with a rubber band or duct tape and place it in a dark corner. Place it on top of a saucer with water if there are ants. In a few days to a week you'll have our own fruit fly supply
