I am looking to get 2 or 3 red eyes and i have read alot about them but i was curious about what people who own them have to say. what kind of personality do they have? Is there something unique about them i need to keep in mind when building the terrium? Anything intesting about them realy i would like to know. Thanks!
I dont own these frogs but i have worked with them for a long time, they are nocturnal so if you want a tree frog that is active during day, you may want to look for another frog. But a good way to fix this problem is to reverse cycle the terrarium so the lights are on during night and turned off during day. They are still awesome frogs!![]()

There beautiful frogs , I have only had 2 retf for a couple months but they like it really dark ( or mine do at least) so I only get to see them by checking in on them with a flash light for a couple minn at a time.
Some people handle them I guess but I don't , in my opinion there look only frogs , mine look so delicate with skinny legs and beautiful red eyes . Mine have not made any noise yet though there still young . Males do make noise I have heard . There cool to watch just in short intervals . Mine seem to crawl and move slow and graceful like there is no rush or there sneaking somewhere haha . Well there cool frogs . Mine are very mellow and I like that about them I have other frogs that are more stunt men and clumsy . Haha

I own 2 red eyes. They are very fragile and should not be handled unless it is life or death situation. They are also nocturnal, thus they will be up at night a lot. When obtaining your red eyes it is very crucial to NOT house them all together at once, you could risk infection spreading, even if one ore more seems to look healthy. Start off with 1 maybe... rather than 2 or 3. They take a while to get used to. And make sure you have your vivarium ready before you get the frog. As for how to house the frog, there are some great care sheets on this site if you just search for them.
Recommend read this if you haven't: Frog Forum - Red-Eyed Leaf Frog/Red Eyed Tree Frog Care - Agalychnis callidryas. As stated by others; they are nocturnal and will add, very photogenic when awake.
You do need to conduct a Quarantine when they arrive, before release them in the vivarium: http://www.frogforum.net/general-dis...uarantine.html. Both Heather (Heatheranne) and Lynn (Flybyferns) keep them and should have good inputs too.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
