I'm assuming that Stanley is actually a female, due to size, age and a lack of nuptial pads. She's been eating like crazy lately, 3-4 nightcrawlers a night and growing pretty quickly. Tonight I thought she looked either fat or possibly bloated.
She ate dinner tonight, although she got frustrated with missing the worms (she has awful aim) and only ate one. She has been active, for a pacman, and behaving like her usual adorably grumpy self. All the water I use is treated tap. Her substrate was completely changed out about a week ago. Her last poop was that same day, about a week ago. Temps are good and humidity is between 80-82%. After I placed her back in her terrarium she burrowed down like she normally does. These pictures were taken post-dinner tonight.
I'm worried about her. This girl is the apple of my eye. What do you guys think, is Bernice sick?
If she eats as much as u say... I think thats normal... Just soak her in warm water to ease pooping... I think thatll do the trick

She looks like she needs to pee and yes maybe even poop. A warm 80° soak like was mentioned above will help.
I think you have a nice fat frog.

Thank you all so much! I will definitely do the soak. Whew, this frog mama was really worried there for a minute.
We have urine! The soak worked within seconds, amazing. She didn't poop but she peed a lot. She's looking like her normal chubby self, again. Thanks, again, everyone!
I know this may sound silly but I had the same problem with my Pepito
and the solution was to put a towel over the plastic bin I had him soaking in to give him
some privacy and after about 10 min or so he was done.
Apparently Bernice isn't nearly as modest as your Pepito. She started peeing almost immediately and didn't seem to care that I was watching very closely.
Guess I wasn't clear enough, He didn't want to have a bowel movement unless he had some privacy.
Ah, I see. I will try the privacy method with her. Hopefully, we'll have poop soon.
The only reason why I found out this is when I did soak for him when the temperature was pretty low in the house. So I covered the bin with a towel to keep the heat in in about 10 minutes I started hearing him slosh around,
I lifted the towel defined that he had a very large bowel movement.
And ever since then he would only do A bm if the towel was on top.
I'm going to try this out tonight. Now that you mention it, the last time she pooped she was in her travel setup and covered pretty well. I hadn't even thought about recreating that private environment for her. Thank you so much!
We have poop and a lot of it! The towel method worked. About 3 minutes into the soak she started going. I think she had started to feel a little sluggish because after pooping she was feisty and super active. Thanks you, again, for the suggestion! I'll be using this method from now on.
Now Louis has me wondering if the towel trick works because it holds the water's temperature, or is it a privacy matter ?
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
I know the privacy was an important factor for Bernice. If I lifted the towel too high when checking on her while she was going, she would freeze until I lowered it. I won't be disturbing her in the future. And it definitely helped keep the water temp up.
I was so excited when she pooped that I actually clapped. I was a little embarrassed afterwards.
I know this is going to sound a little silly, but what does the poo look like?
I'm asking because I have had my Pacman frog, Paco, for a week now and I've never seen anything in his cage, that I thought was poo. I thought he used his pool today because it had a lot of coir in it and it was all brown - like tea. No chunks other than the bits coir. Now I'm thinking it may have been poo.
Will I know it, when I see it?
As always - Thanks - Andy
Not silly at all,
What is Paco's staple diet. Crickets or night crawlers or roaches.
If it is crickets you will see cricket parts,
Raches you will see wings if you fed males and other body parts shells.
Night crawlers you won't see much other than brown water if he went in the water.
And it will stink to high heaven.
If it is just substrate in the water it won't stink
Actually that is normal behavior of a proud frog parent. LOL
All I've fed him so far is crickets. I tried a worm piece, but he wasn't interested. He was still setteling in at the time. I'm going to try more worm later this week. I want to have him eat different things for a more varied diet.
I'll be on the lookout for cricket parts LOL!!!
