You can actually tell their mood and how they feel by their eyes.
I learned that mantids gesture to communicate, I will watch my frogs closely for the same. (Sticky, my first would tell me he'd had enough honey by raising an arm.)
Our animals are just so amazing! They teach us alot, even about ourselves sometimes.

I go along with so I dont hurt his feelings.
    I see.

    Default Why Pacmans?

I got a pacman because I liked this species the most when I started looking at keeping frogs (or in the case of pacman's "a" frog) there were several available near me and I felt I could provide it's basic needs.

I'm a small animal and exotic specialist I live work and breathe animals but had yet to explore the amphibian world despite completing a long distance diploma there really is nothing like hands on experience.

Now that I have one there are MANY more reasons but that's why I got one in the first place ;-)

Puddles on the other hand takes food from the tongs aggressively and spends all of his time in his water dish while Fergie spends all his time burrowed.

I'm looking forward to getting to know Puddles better to see what other behavioral differences there are.

And of course there's watching the bottomless pits consume their food

Thanks! Puddles named himself by spending all his time in his water dish when I first got him. I thought for sure he would be a she, but just two nights ago I heard one if them calling. Checked and found nuptials on Puddles

I have had mine (Rolo) for about 14 months. He is amazing he turns to look at me when I go in and chat to him, He sings with me and loves when I whistle, that sets him off calling away! He even shakes his head sometimes when I go in and have woken him, so funny and soft I have no fear of being bitten. I can smooth soil away from his face and he just sits there! He makes the cutest clicking noises and winks at me after I do it to him , they are great!!

Will try again, as I wanted to do this a few weeks ago and put on you tube. He refused to play, as my phone had to have light on as he is in dark area. Will try with some background lighting.

Lol! Thats cute. FYI the clicking/popping sound means he's slightly annoyed, but not mad.

I started looking at dart frogs to keep and still intend on doing so, but looking through this forum I've come to like pacmans. I like the look of them and like their personalities I've read people talking about. I'm looking forward to getting one

Fantasy frogs are a cross between 2 different species of pacman frogs.
