Last pm at feeding time I noticed one of my gray tree frogs has an eye problem.
I'm fairly sure its new because I check them pretty much on a daily basis.
It's on the outer area on his left eye, it effects approximately 1/4 of his eye, there's a small reddish spot and the rest is cloudy.... I've posted several pictures( Sorry..I've got no clue why they're upside down??)
If I had to guess it looks more like an injury than an infection....I've been in the medical field for 26yrs, but have had yrs of experience with my own eye problems
I did some reading, on the internet, which adbvised to use tetramyacine(a capsule you'd use to trest fish) in distilled water as an eye drop and the other advised a baytril mist with methyl (sp?) blue.
Since I'm not sure what it is, although I am leaning towards an injury, I'm not exactly sure how to treat it or if these meds are the best ways.
Are there better treatments and or a more "generic" treatment that will treat either problems?
I do have baytril and metronizole (sp?) drops, can either or both be used, as is or modified?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, bringing him to the vet right now it not an option![]()
