I would keep the plants potted and place large stones on top to keep him from trying
to burrow into the top of the pots.
just get 2 inch tall pots, terra-cotta are great as they have rounded corners
and when unglazed they absorb moisture and some of the waists that the
frog makes could seep into the plant and help fertilize it naturally.
just burry them into the substrate.
by now your substrate should be around 2 to 3 inches deep.
Just be careful not to use any potting soil that has fertilizers added,
only use organic soil.
As far as the pinky goes once a month is fine.
Pinkies are a good treat food but high in fat.
just like wax worms, a lot of fat but good as a treat.
I feed my pep a hopper mouse.( one developmental step above a fuzzy) once a month.
and he loves it.
He is a really happy frog, he croaks almost nightly and some times during the day time.
