Chubby frog Kaloula pulchra
The native chubby frogs we have around here are usually around 2" and brown with a yellow stripe running down the spine and covered in white spots. That looks like a really big chubby frog and has a nice coloring to it. I love it, hope ours would've looked like that![]()
This guy was around the same size between 2 to 3 inches and he looks like Kaloula taprobanica ...( Daniel pointed me in the right direction)
what i am trying to find out is whether the luminescent dot below the mouth in the neck region ( you can see it in both the pictures )..... is characteristic of the species ..![]()
I'm not sure either. You sure it's natural dot and not just some paint that it got somewhere? You did say it was found in the suburbs? I find that dot interesting as well
The dot looks like something got stuck on it. Don't think its a characteristic of the species. i do think you are right about it being a taprobanica though.
