Hye everyone! Can anyone assist me in my confusion? I have this turtle which seems to be an alligator snapping turtle... But he doesnt seem to have the same behaviour as the ones stated in the caresheet... He doesnt wriggle the worm like thingy in his mouth to lure food and he doesnt rest at the bottom surface of the aquarium... And he is quite actively swimming rather than staying at the bottom... He also looks a little bit different than the ones shown in pictures on google... Is he another species of turtle? If it is not... Then why is he behaving differently?

That is definitely a snapper. He looks quite young, how long is he? He also looks like a male with the long looking tail. Honestly he may act differently because he is young. I had a snapper that was the size of a quarter and he loved to swim around and he would attack any food I gave him. He didn't start developing other characteristics until he was older ( a few years older). He didnt develop "snapping" until one years old. Does his shell shed about everyday and produce more spikes and crevices?
