Has anyone mixed sand coco and Tightbond III to make a background for there viv. I did a project volcano with my son using gs then covered it with tb3 sand mix it dried rock hard in 2 hours. So I got a idea let's mix sand coco (50/50) and tb3 see what happens it dried in 3 hours rock hard. So I tried again sand (25%) coco (75%) and tb3 that was last night and today its dry so less then 24 hours. Anyone see the harm in using this for there background for dart frogs. The sand I used for the volcano was red and brown repti sand because I wanted a darker color.
Some members, including our local resident build master Bill use Titebond III mixed with shredded coco. As long as sand you are adding does not contain toxic dyes (imagine not being for reptiles) should be fine.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
I have mixed sand in with coco fiber and peat moss to add more texture to my mantella tank. It's safe and works well

Good deal Bill. I think I'm going to use this for the hole background just because my test sample of coco and Tightbond is still wet and I have close to 8 ft of background to cover and I'm somewhat OK I am impatient lol. Plus I will be able to get more color variations this way to make it look more natural instead of just brown
