I bought me a Sonoran Desert Toad two months ago from a reptile show. The guy was selling adults and juveniles. I bought a juvenile because I like the satisfaction of raising my frogs from youth haha. The vendor fed them on a diet of only mice! Anyways he's a tank. The first month I had him he'd eat around 30 crickets a week! But lately he's slowed down his eating. I'll drop crickets in and he wont go after them like he used to. His tank is warm, he's on eco earth (half completely dry and the other half is as wet as a pacman's tank) and has a large water dish. Can anyone tell me what'd the matter with him? He's still eating but not nearly as much. I want him to get huge!! Also he's in a ten gallon. Should I upgrade? He's still a small lad only about 4 inches long.
Sorry your toad isn't doing well. Please answer the below questions to help and try to figure out what is the problem. Also, what do you feed crickets before feeding them to toad? Have you tried other foods like Night Crawlers (can use not dyed from Walmart or bait shops). Thank you!
