I never have but it sounds intriguing to me. similar to foam Pipe insulation, but solid and not split? sounds to me like it should work.
Well the test run with silicone keeps it somewhat flexible and the tightbond3 and coco makes it ridgedand they both look good when I figure out how to post pics from my phone I will (I don't have a PC )
If you are looking to make branches from it, you may consider saving some time and picking up a hygrolon covered branch from someplace like folius.net the hygrolon will allow moss and epiphytes to attach themselves to the branch easier.

Hear is what I have done so far.
No I was looking to make vines out of it. I looked at some at the pet store and they make them out of the same stuff with a 14g wire to hold its form they use silicone on top to hold what ever they are wrapped with I used coco fiber for mine
On the left is what it looks like before and to the right is the coco fiber siliconed to it
