Ever since it started getting colder after the summer holidays my two geckos haven't been eating properly maybe one insect a week and a lil repashy now and then I know this isn't that bad as the leopard has a fat tail and crestie isn't too skinny. My friends beardy hasn't ate in like 3 months. Apparently the rise in air pressure is sending Herps in Britain crazy
100% normal for reptiles to go into brumation this time of year.![]()
Oh I thought that was rare in geckos and why is the crestie affected it just means I mist him less as room humidity is slightly higher so his conditions should stay the same
I'm really not sure if it is normal for geckos. My tokay is still eating like a champ but most of the other animals seem to be calming down.
Thanks
That is not really normal for crested to go into dormation state. In fact winter is a time they get some fat deposits they need for their breeding season, usually they eat pretty well despite winter conditions ( a bit colder temps and less light).
Check on your temps and day light period as well monitor his weight every 2 weeks if not eating properly.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
