False bottom question?
I'm making a false bottom for my red eyes and when I put the egg crate down then the nylon screen then rocks them soil, when water goes through that wont it be dirty? Some give me some tips I've never made a class bottom before

you really do not need rocks, just the screen and what ever soil you choose. the water will drain through the soil, essentially filtering it a bit. the screen keeps your soil where it should be and not in your water reservoir..

Nope. I run all false bottoms and my water is crystal clear in all my tanks. I do run extra filtration on them as well.

False bottom question?
You may however get tannins in the water from any wood in the tank. It would cause your water to look amber or brownish. But that is not from the soil.
