Default One dead ... Should I worry?

I recently purchased a trio of ADF, And while I was watching them last night I noticed one had an infected foot ( cotton fluff looking ... Obviously fungus) This morning I was adding some more water ( dechlorinated) and I found that one dead, the other two have been eating well but they are a very pale grey.

Should I worry about the other two? Is there a higher chance of them passing due to this one?

I purchased two ADF a while back and I have the same issue. I placed them into a very well established 20 gallon tank and ones foot basically rotted away in the same manner you described and the other frog which appeared healthy died one day later.

It was a total bummer, I have not bothered with these frogs since. It appears the mortality rate is high.

    Hopefully your remaining frogs survive.

I think I am doing everything right, Live plants, bloodworms ( until I get frozen brineshrimp) 72 degrees ( its as high as my heater can keep it) I don't think his foot rotted ... They had him in with other animals.

I have hides and they are floating and stretching out and their typical froggy things.

They have a 35 gallon sponge I established in a 6 month old tank.

I am guessing if they all pass then I will have to completely sanitize everything, sponge, tank, Everything.

It's nothing you did directly, the frogs I purchased died in a 2 year old established tank (tons of live plants, driftwood with hiding spots, ect) in less than three days. These frogs simply have a high mortality rate from pet shops. 72F is pretty low to keep ADF at, 78F would be better if you could manage to raise the temps a bit.

Sorry to hear about that, keep looking for the other one. I've found aquatic critters can be good at disappearing. Have you checked inside the ornaments? Sometimes they stay in there when you take them out of the water.
    What are the water parameters?

Sounds like you are having about the same experience I had with ADF. I am a fairly experienced in the aquarium hobby and I keep both fish and frogs. I've honestly had almost zero issues with my african clawed frogs but ADF? Dead within days.

I have newts, axolotls and I had betta's ( including a sorority) and I am now venturing into inverts ... I have never had problems like this before. Perfectly healthy one moment and dead the next.

I wonder if I scared the little one to death, he was out swimming around while I was planting the tank then I came in a few minutes later and he was belly up on the bottom. Plants were grown emersed with no ferts so its nothing on them that killed him.

I think it is a case of bad genetics (inbred) and disease that wipes these frogs out. They are not hardy in my experience and the casualty rate seems high. I don't think I'd ever bother with ADF again.

I agree, it's a bummer. Seriously it sounds like you have the SAME issues I had. My two little ADF got sick within days of being purchased though they seemed active and ate way at first. They died mysteriously and some of my cardinal tetras (which are not overly cheap..) died too. Did you get yours from Petsmart by chance?
