Cracks me up when he starts going berserk and flipping all over the place. lol
He looks good Dave!
They do actually have teeth on their upper jaw as do Pacman Frogs. Their odontoids which are the boney protrusions on the lower jaw are used as you stated for crushing and also impaling other frogs. Pacman Frogs actually have a never ending supply of upper teeth like a shark. When one breaks or falls out another is ready to take its place. Also only the tip of the tooth is what falls away. It is held on to the base of the jaw by fiberous membranes that of which name escapes me at the moment.
Definitely do NOT want an adult Pyxi to bite you. No fun there, but of course you've had quite a zoo so have been bitten by a variety of animals.![]()
No kidding! Learn something new every day, lol. I had no idea, thats very cool!
Yeah, even an adult Pixie bite wouldn't even rank on my top ten of worst bites LOL. The 6' Green Tree Python that got me on the wrist and the 8' Beauty Snake bite that had me popping teeth out of my hand for a month were loads of fun, haha.
That was great especially where he attacked the tongs with nothing on them.![]()
If I pour more water into his dish, he will try to attack the water. Theres nothing this frog won't try to eat lol.
No worries, I've had probably 20 years experience feeding various species of aggressive eaters from tongs.....never had an animal injure themselves during feeding.![]()
