Hey guys I'm in the military, and just recieved orders for Hawaii. What are the best if any way to fly with frogs? If need be I can leave them with good friend. But I really don't want to.

I would be willing to overnight them free of charge to just a few trusted members on these frog forums that I know would take care of them too.

Hi Dan! You need to check with HI government first because they got strict laws enforcing animal imports and extended quarantine. If can meet their requirements and permits, then need to contact particular airline to find out if frogs can travel with you in cabin (my recommendation). Another option would be to work with a frog vendor with license to ship to HI and pay for his service to keep them and later ship them to you once set-up in there. Or can offer for adoption as you mentioned in 2nd post.

What base and island are you going to? Myself lived two years in Oahu and was stationed at NAVMAG Lualualei near Ewa Beach. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

You can contact a shipping business or maybe visit a local herp store and have them keep an undamaged shipping box and container and gift or sell to you. Can find cold/heat packs online or in sporting good/health stores if required. Recommend using FEDEX overnight with early delivery over UPS or USPS .

Wait, so you can take them with you in general and only question is how to do it? I understood they are not allowed...

They also have a cute frog they consider a pest and imagine will let you collect and keep. I'm referring to Eleutherdactylus coqui, a Coqui frog from Puerto Rico. Because of their loud "Co-qui" call and unprecedented numbers, they are the target of government and community eradication and control efforts.

I find it funny because the same call that is considered a pest at hotels and resorts in HI, is actually a protected frog in Puerto Rico. Major hotels like the La Concha Renaissance Hotel in Condado have atriums and areas to keep them.

BTW, it's not the only introduced frog considered a pest in HI, so might want to research them and find out if you like to keep any .
