Open Air Screen Cage for Gray Tree Frog

I was curious about everyone's opinion on Open Air Screen Cages. I am housing a female Gray Tree Frog she is about 2 inches long. Are these ideal for this kind of frog?

this is the exact model I was considering buying. Figured I would get a few more opinions.

Hi taramazing88. You can put greys in there but do it at your own risk. I personally wouldn't recommend it because the screen may be abrasive to his skin and not hold in humidity. Any crickets left within the cage could possibly chew through the mesh (if it's plastic) For keeping in humidity and ventilation (if that is what you are looking for) i would reccoment the exo terra or zoo med cages, the 12x12 is the minimum but i would recommend a 12x18.

also do you know anything about lighting and bulbs for these guys? Im lost about what to get. Ive been reading they do fine at room temp but why would I be reading also that their cages need to be between 70 and 80 degrees? No one keeps their house that hot lol

A 14x8x16" cage is just under 8 gallons. That's pretty small for an adult. The shallow 8" might also make it hard to work in.

I just use standard daytime CFL bulbs for lighting in the summer (more for the plants than the frogs), but will switch to hotter incandescent for winter as my room temperature gets low and it gives them a place to sit where it's warmer if they like.

They're made to handle a pretty wide range of temperatures. My winter night time temps are around 13C (55F) or so and they usually stay active at this range. My peak winter room temperature is probably not much more than 20C (68F).
