Hornworms?

You can use them more frequently than most other treat type foods. You should be fine to do so. Just mix them in with your frogs normal staple.

How do they compare to wax worms? Maybe that is what I was thinking about?

This is what Rob from Great Lakes Hornworm had reported to him from a lab:
Protein: 9%
fat: 3.07%
Calcium: 46.4mg/100g
Moisture: 85%

Wax worms have a considerably higher percentage of fat...basically Hornworms are water balloons
