This seems to irritate the skin and turn it a little red, especially on the rear thighs (add this to the increased blood flow from movement that's been mentioned). This is also when you usually see them from below and then start thinking about redleg. I went through this several times, but when I check them after they've settled down and have been sitting for a few hours, the redness is gone and my paranoia subsides until next time...
Very good input Brian! I keep seeing my whites do this after I mist my tank. Never noticed red on the legs with them in particular but they usually get frustrated after awhile and just jump in the water pool or on a vine after several attempts to be sticky to the glass. Its really funny to see a whites ATTITUDE to silly stuff like that.

    Hi,
I have also noticed time and time again there is a ' pink/orange tinge' to their tummies and upper chest if they need to shed.
