My vet gave me a SHOTS to give my "DIXIE" who died of red leg early this past year...it did not work even through a week of treatment...so I will NOT recommend it. Best of luck. with beloved guy and hope all heals up.

Ill be honest, From what I have seen out of red leg ....your doesn't resemble the symptoms. Hard to tell with your photo though. I could be very wrong. Do you see broken blood vessels in the white part of the frogs leg or just redness to the skin which can be as simple as sitting in its own pee for 24 hours from ammonia? Either way I would get some pure spring water with some pedialyte and dechloinator and see what that does. If it goes away after some pure water like that after a week. Your good to go to my knowledge.

I did not recall seeing broken blood vessels. he only has the redness but is still very active and spunky.

Mine was active for the 1st week. Symptoms were blood vessels were visible in the lower legs... after the second week the blood vessels were bursting and it spread to the lower belly. She never ate and i had to force feed her by a syringe that I got from lynn.

I dont want to put the frog under any more stress by handling him too much.

A lot of frogs (mine included), have pinky-red tinged legs as a result of the muscle underneath pale coloured skin. It can get a deeper colour if blood flow to the muscles is increased (heat or lots of movement). The frogs in the pictures you posted look normal.

Red leg looks like haemorrhaging under the skin- much more intense red than what you are seeing

I would guess that since your frog is still active and eating well, that its just natural pinky colouration due to the above

If dragons were real I'd totally be in on that...

I've also seen the pink/orange belly right before they're going to pee. I have one frog that startles easy (Cassie), and she gets the belly color if you scare her. Her belly is nice and white when relaxed.

Default Red leg?? If so i need help! :(

Yes. When they are relaxed and resting their bellies should be white. Sometimes when they're squished on the glass their lower bellies may have a hint of color too.

If they are healthy, eating well, pooping well, have no skin alterations or wounds, have good energy and are awake and asleep at the right tines of the day, their homes are clean and at the proper temp and humidity, and if they have a proper day/night lighting schedule then I don't worry. I just keep an eye on them.

It is always good to be prepared though. Find a vet that could treat frogs if need be. Have a few things on hand like neosporin without pain reliever, unflavored plain pedialyte, reptaboost, liquid calcium supplement, and a hospital tank, just in case you need them.

It's good to monitor and know your pets personalities so you can quickly detect when something is wrong. And act quickly if you notice something is off/wrong. When frogs get sick, it's tough to reverse of not properly treated quickly. The goal is to avoid it all-together. Prevention and husbandry are key.

And, again, have a vet on stand-by, just in case you need extra help or medications. We can often guide people here, but unfortunately, are not vets who can prescribe medications. We often know what you need, but can only offer guidance. But, we are always here to help as much as we can.
