Please welcome our two newest arrivals! They were being re-homed and I really couldn't resist them.
They arrived on Tuesday, after a nerve-wracking shipment. Somehow the shipment got delayed and they didn't arrive until 3:30 pm which meant they were in transit for over 24 hours. I spent the day nervously waiting. It is a good thing that I was keeping a close eye out for the delivery truck too, because my lovely (sarcasm!) neighbor told the delivery guy that I didn't live here anymore. I got outside just as he was getting back in the truck and had to chase him down. Ok, ok so I was the crazy person running running down the street after the FedEx guy... but I got my frogs safe and sound so it was worth it. I promptly gave both frogs baths to make sure they were properly hydrated then settled them into their new homes. They must not have been too stressed though because they both ate the first night. They both seem to be adjusting very well and we are happy to have them in our frog family!
Addition #1 is a female Samurai High Red Ornate. She is about 1.5 years old and about 4 inches. She is very laid back. Hopefully someday she will make pretty babies with Sanguine.
Addition #2 is possible male Cornuta. He is 6 months old and captive bred. He was originally sold as a tricolor but is mostly green now. He is the first Cornuta I've had. Now we have 5 of the 8 Ceratophrys species! I am fascinated with watching him and noting the differences between species. He is eating very well for a Cornuta but he is definitely a little shy. I love everything about him from the tips of his super pointy horns to his little black webbed feet! I do hope he turns out to be male because the Cornutas have such a distinct call, but either way he is a great addition.
One red and one green... Christmas came early!!!
Very nice
I love the Cornuta, it's adorable and I can tell the Ornate is full, look at his right side.
Now you need to add Cornuta to your signature.
Green cornuta??? That's it! I'm getting Aurita thenLol
beautiful frogs! And by the way I know all about running after delivery truck, except it was different city and different country lol That is how I got mine lol i wonder now, can it be because green cornuta was in there.... Hm....
Happy they are all adjusting nicely.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
OMG Both so awesome! I LOVE LOVE love the high red! I also love the cornuta!

Great additions Colleen/Jerrod and best of luck breeding the HR Ornates !

I love your new kids! They're both beautiful!
