Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!

Where can I buy one? I am still researching my first frog/toad. Its way too late to find any outside. We've had heavy frosts here in Maine.
Thanks.
What a little cutie! Toads are, and I think always will be my favorite non-fuzzy creature. Now if it burrows underground, don't panic. Some of mine have gone underground for up to 7 months at a time, just make sure you keep the soil moist & keep fresh water and feeders available.

What a lil cutie, i found an american toad myself not to long ago. Have you figured if its a guy or gal? I thinks mines a girl but Im still a lil ify (this is the first toad Ive ever had). Also how often do you feed em? Do you dust with calcium and whatnot? I just started dusting myself.

What a cutie! It's been COLD here in MA so glad he or she is safe with you. Can't tell if it's a boy or girl when they're that teeny.
And i'd feed daily, dusting with calcium and a vitamin supplement but I forget the recommended schedule for tiny ones, tho I know you never do both on same day and use more calcium than vitamins while they're growing. I believe I dusted with calcium almost daily and reptivite twice a week when Banjo was little (tho she wasn't that little when I found her). Now that she's more then doubled in size an I've had her for over a year, I do calcium every other feeding and vit once a week.

I saw ONE before I found Banjo on sidewalk. It was hopping away onto boyfriend's lawn so I just watched. Then we had some living by garage over the summer and they were my outdoor pets (I'd feed em) but they've gone off to hibernate already. So next spring, try leaving a light on outside and they'll come to dine. Hopefully.![]()

Aw, I've been on here for a year and I have zero reputation. I do sort of know what I'm saying tho! Ask my toads.
