Hi,
I have a 9 month old female ACF and a 7 month old male axolotl. Until now they have been in two separate tanks.
Yesterday I moved them in a bigger split tank (with a plastic mesh dividing the tank - they cannot reach each other but share the same water which passes through the mesh). I've just looked at them and the axolotl is fine but the frog's cloaca looks like this:
It's red and swollen as you can see. I've never noticed it looking like this before. She has had no contact with male frogs (since I bought her from the shop, around 6/7 months ago) so I don't know what's going on!
Should I separate them back as they were? Could it be the axolotl's presence causing her stress as he is male? Or maybe even a prolapse?? Please help!
