I try to read as much as I can about keeping a Pacman Frog. No, I don't have one and maybe I won't get one after all. I have four books about the care of Pacman Frogs,(another one ordered.) Only one really suggests that you use ground up coconut fiber as a substrate. Interesting to say the least.

That is great you look for information!

The only safe substrate for pacman frog is very fine coconut fibre ( exo earth or plantation soil), your book was right. Everything else posses risk of injury or impaction or lots of other things.

Thanks Lija for your comments. What's really interesting is the authors are suppose to be "experts" at knowing about Pacman Frogs. All I can say for people is read, read and read before you buy. Also find the information here on Frog Forum.

well yeah, but then you need to know what to read I can bet all information on anything frog related will be here on FF and if it is something very specific there is someone who will know the answer and the reasoning behind it! or we'll collectively find one.

Great to see your doing alot of reading! I've actually looked up several caresheets, read online and learned from owning one pacman for over a year and a half, then I decided to get a few more and really get into the hobby.
Wich book is it that recommends it? Honestly, I think some books are just outdated, that's the big concern I have when it comes to information. What was right 2 years ago, could be proven wrong today.

Booth. A.R book has outdated information and D. Vosjoli book is not bad. Have you read Taylor David's book? Was planning to get that one next .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

I'll list the books I have. "Horned Frogs Plus Budgett'sFrogs" by Philippe de Vosjoli.Copyright 2006, "Frogs and Toads" by Devin Edmonds. Copyright 2011.,"The Horned Frog Family and African Bullfrogs" by R.D. Bartlett & Patricia Bartlett. Copyright 2000., " Ceratophrys:Horned Frogs As Pets" by Taylor David. Copyright 2013 and "Horned Frogs by Ray Hunziker. Copyright 1994. I don't know if these are the only books on Horned Frogs or not.

I wouldn't waste the time or money on the Taylor David book Carlos. It took me about 2 minutes to flip through on my kindle and has less information than the care sheet here on frog forum.
