Plexiglass warps and put off a chemical smell when warmed up. Tin foil is a much better choice based on my experience. Front door access does make life easier. Ill post a pic tomorrow on how I'm covering the top tomorrow.
The warm honey soaks work well. Sugar may work similarly. I've always used honey myself. Be sure to do a second rinse in dechlorinated water to rid the skin of excess sugar/honey. Don't feed him tonight. Give him a chance to expel what he's already eaten.
Please keep us posted.

Warm honey soaks? I would like an enclosure with front opening but I don't have much room for depth. Ted's tank is going to be a exo terrarium 12x12x12 but the larger ones all have a minimum depth/width of 18. I think I'm looking at the dimensions wrong I saw W x D x H without looking I read it as L x W x H.
For a warm honey soak, use 80'F warm dechlorinated water with a few drops of plain honey and soak for 15 minutes. It's a natural emollient and helps them to pass their feces.
