Below every forum post is a grayish colored bar that shows nine functions. You might not be able to use all functions; but all will be discussed in here, including how to maximize their use as an active forum member. Hope you enjoy discussion and please ask any questions in regards to them.
1. Blog This Post - To the extreme left (way below Avatar) is the "Blog This Post" function. Clicking on this will bring up a Blog form to add the post as a Blog with your comments. To keep this simple recommend using the Forum for questions and the Blog for... Blogging!
2. Thanks - Second to the right is the "Thanks" function. This one is appropriate when someone has responded to your question or inquiry. Using it will leave a record on post you have thanked the post author.
3. IP - Provides the poster's Internet Protocol. Every device connected to the public Internet is assigned a unique number known as an Internet Protocol (IP) address. IP addresses consist of four numbers separated by periods (also called a 'dotted-quad') and look something like 101.0.1.0.
4. Add To This User Reputation - Next is a six pointed star representing the "Add To This User Reputation" function. Clicking on this one will open a window where you can "approve" or "disapprove" the post. Approving it gives "reputation" points to post author and there is a box to write a short comment (i.e. Good information on frog nutrition). The comment will show up on the reputation page of the receiver's profile. Reputation points value are linked to the giver's own reputation level. Reputation level can be seen as bars under the member's name in a post. Reputation is an excellent way of rewarding members who go out of the way to provide answers and help others in challenging scenarios.
5. Report Post - Next is a triangle representing the "Report Post" function. Clicking on this one will open a window where you can report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts. Please note that disliking or disagreeing with a statement is not reportable and a common situation at all forums and life in general.
6. Edit Post - Next on the right is the "Edit Post" function. This will allow you to edit your already posted information. The new window will include a box where you can detail the reason for edit (i.e. Grammar). This capability will expire after a short predetermined time, unless you have Moderator or Administrative rights.
7. Reply - Next is the "Reply" function. This will open a window to post a quick reply in the thread.
8. Reply With Quote - Next to right is the "Reply With Quote" function. This will open a window that will include the quoted post. Once posted, the quoted post will show up highlighted and above the originating members reply.
9. Multi-Quote This Message - Last to right is a quote symbol with a + representing the "Multi-Quote This Message" function. By clicking on two or more posts in the thread and then selecting the Reply to Thread bottom at the end of thread, it will open a window that will include all the selected posts quoted. The user can then answer each quote individually or as a group if desired.
Well, that is all the information I have on the post bar. The other post functions left to discuss are the Like & Share bottoms right on a post, in the right lower corner.
The "Like" button is a quick way to express you like the message or graphics posted. There is a record below each post that tallies all likes received. Also, each members profile will tally how many "Likes" have been given and received. In case you accidentally clicked on it or change your mind; a "Dislike" button appears once the "Like" button is selected.
The "Share" button allows you to share the post in several social media sites like FaceBook or Tweeter. Hope you enjoy learning about the available Post Functions and thank you for your attention reading this long post
!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
