They are all great starter plants. Most aroids (pothos, philos, syngoniums, ect) do extremely well in the vivarium environment. Like heather said before, dracaena is another good species, as well as ficus pumila (creeping fig), fittonia a and peperomias. As far as epiphytes go, bromeliads and tillandsias (air plants) are no brainers as well.

Are microfauna like springtails required for live plant setups? I didnt really get enough time to cycle the tank before putting the frog in because the temporary tank I had her in was just too small. The whole microfauna thing, while I understand it, is new to me. Can I add it them in with the frog already in there?

I'm noticing a tiny bit of mold on my grapewood. Planning to clean it off when I build the false bottom in the coming weeks but is this going to be a problem? My hope is to run the fountain hose into a splitter and then have it drip down each limb of the grapewood. But if it going to mess up the wood then I obviously can't do that...

Micro fauna is not a requirement. Think of them as snails in an aquatic tank. Excellent cleanup crew. Just makes maintenance easier. You can add them later. The white mold is normal in a new setup. It will go away on it's own in a week or two. Isopods, however, feed off the stuff

Btw, what kind of frog are you putting in here again?

Never mind, duh, forgot the thread, Cuban. Add springtails whenever you like. The frog won't eat them, they are too small

They won't hurt the frog though, right?
