First off hellos to everyone! Second I am looking to get a pyxie and was searching the forum and could not get the info I wanted or couldn't find it. Can you guys tell me. a good setup for these frogs and maybe pics of your setup. Also does anyone know a link to distinguish dwarfs from giants? Thanks!
Hello n welcome. This is a great site with a lot of knowledgeable people.I have my pyxies in a 20 long which has eco earth and a large water bowl.I use heat tape on the sides of the tank only abouy a 10 in strip. My temps are abouy 78 degrees and I feed everyday a variety of bugs.About a 12 hr light cycle.Change water every day.I also feed in a different container to prevent ingesting any substrate . I'm sure I left somethings out so ask away and the many people with experience will answer. ...Good luck...
Colleen/Jerrod already covered the care article. Not my set-up; but picture in post no. 2 on this thread is what myself like and will build for mine.
Here is the latest and greatest to try and tell them apart: http://www.frogforum.net/african-bul...us-status.html . Sadly, it's not an easy thing to do when they are tiny babies. There are even some frogs like my cute Duncan that won't fit into any present described species and appear a sort of mix. If you are buying locally, see if they let you take pics of the frogs and post them in here for assessment. Good luck!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Looks like my friend moderators have given you the guidance you need. Welcome to the forum.

Thank you!
Kyle, it's extremely critical of all things you buy Eco earth coconut fiber. I used some recommended substrate from my local pet store and came real close to killing my frog from ingestion. She should have died. Just make sure you keep it nice and moist and I also pat it down flat in the areas she doesn't dig so it keeps her from eating the substrate. I tried feeding her in another container but she hates it. My males will eat in anything, though.
sign up for petcos reward program (it's free). I got a coupon that has buy one Eco earth get one free...
