tadpoles in Massachusetts in the Fall

Good afternoon, one of my small ponds still has tadpoles, many actually. Some have already started to morph. I live in South Eastern Massachusetts.Usually by now all tadpoles have made the change.. My concern is will these tadpole winter over outside? They are wild and i believe leopard frog tads.. Should I do anything , like add a heater to the pond? Or let mother nature handle it? Any assistance is appreciated..

Hi hlobsta. If the tad are leopard frogs they should be fine, Some
tads from the Rana family or "pond frogs" can go two to three years
until they metamorph. if you feel doubtful that they will survive, you
can probably take some home if its legal in your area.
