Default Fire Bellied Toad with only 3 feet!!!

Hi, I already have 3 well established fire bellied toads which are now 8yrs old, I recently purchased 2 young ones and have noticed that one of them has a front foot missing!!! It is eating ok and is a good size, will it be ok??? I really should have took more notice when I bought it x

This shouldn't be a problem. It could just be a deformity but most likely it's an injury from when it's legs we're developing caused by another member of the group. But again it shouldn't be a problem to the toads health, just it may find climbing more difficult since it's a front foot.

Has it got an easy access point out of the water? With missing a foot I imagine it would struggle to climb.

I almost know for sure that it will be no problem at all. It's a fact that most animals (and people) will adapt to this problem. If it's eating well and it can move around and climb, it will grow out to be a healthy animal. I have had an interest for this kind of adaptions for years now. It's remarkable how animals can cope with the loss of limbs. Dogs/cats with only three legs, or even two legs (with the use of some kind of wheelchair!).
