Careless wording, I'm sure. Marine toads, American Bullfrogs and others do take bats on occasion, many well-documented observations, some photos. I've worked with a number of bat species; all bite when grabbed. I'm guessing that toad grabbed the bat and then released when it was bitten. Best, Frank
