Okay, so I recently got tadpoles for the first time. I ordered one and was given three, I've been calling them Larry, Moe, and Curly.
They're in a ten gallon tank with river rocks on the bottom. I have a filter in there. They kept getting drawn into it so, I semi-blocked the intact with big rocks.
They're doing this things where they occasionally swim erratically from one end of the tank to other. They keep banging their little heads. I'm worried they're going to hurt themselves.
When I had my tads I wrapped the outside of the filter with the fiber filter cloth, can't think what it's called, but it comes in blue and white. And my tree frog and toad tads both did the "psycho" swim, so I'm guessing that's normal.

Could you possibly get a pre-filter? Its like a sponge filter that goes over the intakeIt will help tons.
When I raised baby fish I would put a stocking over the intact so they wouldnt get sucked up in it.
