    Default set up considerations

I'm considering getting some FBT's for my empty 15 gallon (wide) tank. I had it set up as a terrarium for my pacman who has since moved, so right now it has a couple of inches of eco earth and several live plants. I've read that a half and half set up is good, which is what I have for my newts, but how about if I were to embed one or two large water dishes into the coconut fiber instead? I'd probably have a small sponge filter, if not I"d do daily water changes.

Just curious if that substrate would even work with them and also if more water would be better?

Hi Chrissy! FBT's love water features with plants growing in them. Something like this on a simpler smaller scale would be nice: Fire Belly Toad Paludarium - YouTube . Lot's more tank examples in the FBT and vivarium sections. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

Great thanks for that! Much like what I have now for my fire bellied newts, but on a grander scale.

I have a lot of deco that I can use, I'm excited for this
