Congrats on your new frog! Try and bring the day temperature between 82-84F (can go down to 75F at night) and lower humidity between 70-80%. The substrate should be slightly damp so it will clump in fist without dripping water out. Spot clean enclosure daily and replace substrate once a month.
Insects should be same size as distance between frogs eyes and earthworms cut from pointy end same as frog's body length. Also, remember to dust it's food with CA/D3 2X and vitamins 1X weekly on different days with skip day in between.
Here is a good care article with more information: Frog Forum - Pacman and Horned Frogs - Ceratophrys - Care and Breeding, good luck!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Hello again! I put under tank heater on side of tank and got temp up to 81. Of course humidity dropped to 60 but I fixed that by misting tank. I wish I had the enclosure set up and stable for this little guy BEFORE I put him in it. I have a couple people looking for pacman frogs for me so went to pet store to get supplies and just felt awful for how they were keeping him after reading on here about proper care.
So I succumbed! Aarrgggh!
Like I said, I raised the temp a little so I'll see how that goes over next couple of days. If I need to I'll get another heat mat.
He ate small piece of earthworm but did not seem very interested.
I get the feeling he kind of feels sorry for me when he sees me poke my head in there to see if the temperature went up or briskly spray the tank when I saw humidiy level drop. I feel He's just going to sit there while I get everything figured out and then he'll let me go about getting to know abs take care of him.
Btw- have no idea why I Refer to frog as him.
I really hope everyone has wonderful evening. Thanks again for all the time everyone spends on this forum both asking questions and answering back, what I'm sure are the same questions over and over.
