Hello people,
So.... I couldn't resist it. After a couple of minutes of making up my mind I ended up getting another pyxie! I will keep updating pictures here as my baby grows, she/he is TINY; smaller than a quarter.
I'd like for you guys to confirm if it's a true giant, I tried to get some good shots so bear with me....this guy dislikes pics and I did not want to stress the baby too much either. On the first night I gave him a waxworm, a hornworm and a night crawler chunk, for the rest of the week I will just feed night crawlers until its first poop before adding variety. I want to make sure he poops first before anything else.
I noticed the three typical green stripes, blue coloring behind legs so I think I'm correct. He is a little darker than my first pyxie but that could probably be because this one is smaller/younger than when I got my first pyxie and adspersus tadpoles are a very dark navy blue so I guess that's why it's a lot darker? I was wondering because I'm not sure if DWARVES look the same when they are babies because I have never seen a baby edulis.
Thanks and enjoy!
Looks like a giant to me. Looks exactly like my last two.
It's a giant.
I agree with everyone else, it's a giant. Congrats on your new little baby! You should post pics of your other one as well, i'm looking forward to seeing what sex it is.
Yes that is a baby adspersus. Congrats!
nice! is that a little tail in the second to last pic?
Thanks guys!
Yes, that's a little tail! Good observation! It seems this one barely finished absorbing his tail not too long ago which explains why that shows and his darker colors for a baby. I've never had a baby this tiny and fragile. I thought I had gotten a dart frog instead heheheh
On the other side, do baby edulis look the same? Just wondering for my own knowledge and reference.
How I managed to miss this thread, what a pretty tiny baby you got, can you imagine it turning a monster? Lol perhaps in 2-3 month lol
hey now you have 2!!!!!!!! Congrats and enjoy!
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Very adorable indeed..............
Lol get your camera ready and make sure you have a data tag, otherwise you won't believe it later lol

One month Update:
Took these today during the first monthly cleaning. Any predictions?
Male.
Looks male from above but female from the side but I'm going to go with it being male.
Yea, I think he might turn out male considering how fast he is growing. He's only about a month old since I got him and he is as big as my first pyxie was in his second month. Also his head is pretty big so that's another sign, we will see.
@SCF: My other pyxie looks male as of now, I will post some pics soon.
I'm going with male too. pretty dude.
