2 questions about feeding and 2 about burrowing. feeding 1. how many crickets to feed a frog? i feed mine 4. so when i get 2 i'd feed them 8. and how often? i feed mine every 3 days. burrowing queaions. 1. is there a way to tell if a frog is burrowing? like a pile of substrate. why would my frog be burrowing now? i had him for 2 months now and he never did this. his tank is at 70-80 degress and over 50 percent humidity. it is getting cold out. im worried he some how managed to sneak out![]()
any books or sites to learn about wtf? im feeling like the site i used to learn about the frog did not teach me a lot of needed info.
1. It depends on the size of your frog. Ive heard that you should feed however many crickets take up the length of the frogs back but i dont know of its true or not
2. If its a juvenile, feed it everyday. If its a full grown adult, then feed it every other day.
3. There might be a lump of loose substrate if the frog is burrowed. But i dont know how else to tell. They sometimes burrow when the get cold (im guessing, and i read that somewhere too). My whites tree frog burrowed (just like half of his body) once and his head was poking out and theni turned on the lamp and within a few minutes he jumped out. Hope i helped![]()
I was feeding my frog every day until I finally got cricket food then it seemed he was getting fat above the eyes and I know that was bad to I now feed every 3 days. he seems to be happy healthy and growing. he's at 1/2 inch long last time I measured him and it turns out he was hiding in his cave I have for him due to low humidity. hopefully I fixed the prob.![]()
