Yes some of them do hide especially if it is a newly acquired animal. sometimes during certain parts of the year(especially when it starts to cool down) they will display this type of behavior.

It's getting colder out but his tank never below 70so that seems strange to me. I've had him for a month now. Never did this before. Now if he did burrow would I see a small hill in the tank meaning he buried himself?
