Hello fellow frog forum members!I have an update for you about my fire belly toads named Fred (the darker brown one) and Froggers (the greener one). I have changed their tank by adding more gravel and making the land section up higher. I used to have only a little gravel and the water was going on the land section and crickets were drowning left and right. Here's a pic I took a couple of minutes before I started typing this.
As you can see the land section has a lot more gravel then the water section. Now as for Fred and Froggers they are doing great. They croak a lot too when I'm in the room because their tank is in my bedroom on my dresser. I don't know why they croak though because I looked up what their genders are and they are both male from what I found. So it wouldn't be a mating call. Also, they are very aggressive when I put crickets in their tank too, once they spot a cricket they go crazy. Here's a pic of Fred,
Here is a pic of Froggers now,
he was hiding in the fake plant when I tried to get a pic. Also as for cleaning their tank I clean the filter sponge every Saturday or when I get a chance every week because it is a fluker filter I got in a aquatic turtle start up kit when me and my brother caught a painted turtle and wanted to keep it for some time then let it go. Then I clean the whole tank every other week. If you got any suggestions on a schedule for cleaning my tank then please reply. Thanks. That's all for this update. Thanks for reading and for replying any positive feedback or suggestions for my tank or etc.
Clean the filter in dechlorinated or treated water, or even use old tank water to clean it. Don't use from the tap, tap water or you destroy most of the beneficial bacteria in it. Weekly should be enough.
