    Default Disinfecting Pacman frog terrarium?

    Hey guys,

I want to clean out and disinfect my Pacman's tank, but I don't know what to use. At the reptile zoo I worked at, we used bleach, but the bleach I have is "fabric" bleach. Is there any difference? Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Zoo Med makes a product called "Wipe Out" you can use, just remember to rinse well. Another option is with unscented household bleach. If doing bleach will need gloves, eye protection, old clothes, and a well ventilated place. What I do is remove all wood and stonework for re-baking. Then using a small rag, soak in pure bleach and go over all inside surfaces of enclosure and top.

Can also wipe plastic, resin or ceramic decor (not porous stuff). Then wait 10 minutes and rinse well with water making sure to get everywhere. Finally, prepare a 10X dechlorinated water solution and using another rag soaked in it, go over everything with it. Dry with paper towels and leave alone overnight; then can use next morning.

For the wood and stones, bake at 250F for 1 hour and then let in oven to cool overnight. You are done .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

Well..... No, bleach is very irritating and hard to wash off properly, I use it now along with alhogol, but I have no choice....

You better use wipe out or vet grade disinfectant ( should be available through vet clinics), but no matter what you use you need to make sure there is absolutely no residue left of whatever you're using.

Yes I meant alcohol, 70%, I use propyl alcohol, but any alcohol would do.
