Blackwater Safe for Firebellies?

I want to create a southeast Asian biotope vivarium/aquarium that mimics the natural habitat of bombing orientalis. Many of the streams there are black water, and IAL leaves are good for obtaining this type of water. I can also put peat moss in the filter.

It will lower the pH and I think that has a chance of affecting the frogs long term unless it is balanced out to their needs.
Crushed coral or other media should help to balance the pH or should at least raise it some. I know it kept the pH high when I used it for raising snails.
