    Default Hello fellow froggy fans!

    Hi guys and gals!

My name is Chris and I'm from the UK. I have been a frog owner for a few weeks now (Kaloula pulchra) and have really enjoyed getting to know my frog. I've named him (assuming it's a male!) Kermy and love him to bits.

At first he would puff up into a ball whenever I went near him and would always 'wee' all over my hand whenever he was picked up, but over the last few weeks he has come to know me (mainly as bringer of food!) and puffs up less regularly and doesn't 'wee' on me. He even enjoys a little wander around my hands and a little tickling on top of his head - he seems to ask for more tickles whenever I stop!

Looking forward to being a member here and hope that in time I can become a productive member of the forum!

    Thanks for having me

    Chris

Welcome to Frog Forum Chris. I haven't seen many Banded Bullfrog owners on here so hopefully you will share lots of pics and info on yours.

Remember though not to handle him too much because frogs don't like that and it isn't healthy for them because they can absorb harmful substances from your hands through their skin.

Thanks for the nice welcome guys!

    As requested :-)

Kermy is about 2.5" from bum to nose. I purchased him from a local petshop (£15 or about $22.50) and yes he is missing his back left foot but it is not known how he lost it. Seems to mange just perfectly and doesn't effect his movement at all.

Assuming he's a male. Anyone agree?

I'm so happy, he just hand fed from me for the first time. I couldn't be a prouder father.

I also have some common frogs, a common toad and a palmate newt that I found locally and decided to take in to observe for a while before returning them to the wild. Sorry if this offends anyone, but I was just curious, and whilst in my care the frogs have trebled in size and are very interesting to watch. I can try and get some photos if anyone is interested but they are a little more skittish than Kermy!
