Brachypelma emelia
Cyriocosmus elegans
Heteroscodra maculata
Nhandu coloratovillosus
Poecilotheria pederseni
And another P. pederseni
Nhandu chromatus
Looks like it worked.
Poecilotheria subfusca
Poecilotheria striata
Looks like he got her.
Psalmopoeus cambridgei
Afterward she tried to get him. Instead she grabbed on to the "magical male-saving stick" while he ran away.
Pterinochilus murinus
Poecilotheria metallica (x2!)
Psalmopoeus irminia
Poecilotheria tigriniwesseli
Monocentropus balfouri
And another one
Megaphobema mesomelas
Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens - This one wasn't so successful
A few of the girls were much more accommodating - and less deadly
Chilobrachys fimbriatus
Ceratogyrus brachycephalus
Aphonopelma eutylenum
Acanthoscurria geniculata
Awesome pics; see your comments after P. striata pairing that "looks like he got her." So males can also kill females during mating? Thought it was a one way thing with males having to be careful of females killing them .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Oh no. By "got her" I mean he successfully mated with her. The pic shows her vent slightly opened. When the male is successful he'll pull the bent back like the one in the pic. It is a way to ensure the male mated before he ran away.
That said, I have heard of males killing females. I've never had it happen, but I guess it is possible.
