Default is Vermiculite okay for frogs?

Hi guys i just got some starry night reed frogs a couple of weeks ago, and they are awesome! However, there is vermiculite, which are the little white chunks from potting soil. my substrate is mainly coco husk and a unfortunate small amount of potting soil, should i get rid of it the vermiculite?

do not use potting soil it contains harmful chemicals that may be harmful to the sensitive amphibians. you may not notice the effects right away but they will soon come. I would completely replace your substrate. it is better to be safe then sorry. and act sooner rather then later.

Hello and welcome to FF! As DA stated, potting soil in frog enclosures is a bad mix. If you have live plants with frogs, ABG type soil is OK. Can get that from Josh Frogs or some vivarium stores. If no live plants; then shredded coco (Plantation Soil or Eco Earth) mixed with dechlorinated water until slightly damp (clumps in fist but no water comes out) is a safe substrate. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

Vermiculite is definitely a no no if it's anywhere the frogs can get at and potentially swallow. It's an impaction risk.
