    Default Poo question

So I was just looking inside my Lucifer's and Marven's home and I found the biggest poo of my frogs I have ever seen. Should I be concerned if it was full of undigested crickets? That's all that was in it and it was about half the size of a Dime. I can't lie and say I didn't feel bad for which ever frog that came out of. I know Lucifer hasn't been sleeping at night, could this be the cause of it? They both came back clean from a fecal smear at the vet and were on meds for a few days. Any ideas on why it would be like this?

I can take a picture if necessary but it's poo..

Glad your frogs received a clean bill of health from vet . What size crickets are you feeding in relation to distance between frog's eyes? Also, what do you use to gut load them? Thank you!

I usually go a bit smaller than the width of his eyes. Marvin is slightly bigger than lucifer but I still don't use hat big of crickets. Usually about 1/4". Currently all I have is pin head crickets because I am getting me from petsmart while I wait for my shipment arrives from Flukers.

I always use the calcium gel and cricket food. I've been using this since I started getting my frogs and beardie. It seems to work. Do you think it is because it was a few days after I introduced him to his new heome?

    Hi ,
    It could be stomach contents?
Frog don't vomit; they actually spit their stomachs out of their mouths to empty the contents.
They do this to get rid of something 'bad' or 'nasty'.

Just keep an eye on him.

Make sure all of your frog's supplements, cricket gel etc are ok.
Make sure nothing is moldy or smells bad.

Crickets / feeders need to be dusted with a high quality supplement such as Repashy:
Amazon.com: Repashy Calcium Plus Vitamin and Calcium Supplement 5.3oz Jar: Pet Supplies
(cricket gel , alone is not enough )

I would say dont worry TOO much if they got a clean bill from the vet and its not terribly stinky, loose, or a different color.

Good call on getting a vet visit done though, way to be precautionary

watch their poo, if i happens again then we'll talk

Thanks! He has only done it once and has been very active. He has finally started croaking but he does it a lot during the day. Both have been eating a lot and well, pooing a lot too. I was just a little concerned about the blob of cricketness. It was white and striped with crickets. The vomit thing does make more sense considering I would have felt horrible if that had came out the other end...

If it's the orange cricket gel... get rid of it! I prefer to feed crickets oatmeal, carrots, lettuce, and veggie fish flakes with spirulina .
