I found my american toad, Roscoe, trying to cough something up earlier today. Wondering if anyone in my family had changed his water and accidentally used tap water, I questioned about. However upon looking back at him I realized he has a protruding bubble coming down off his stomach area. Instantly flags went up because I lost a toad a year or so ago from a similar looking ailment.
This time, knowing the possible danger I immediately took action and gave him a honey bath and forced a little olive oil into him. So far, he still hasn't gone the bathroom and I'm worried. I have noticed he had not gone in awhile and I lessened his feeding amount to compensate but this is the first time I've noticed the bubble.
Please help? What else can I do to help him in this situation?
Take'em to a herp vet. Keep with the warm water soaks other than that nothing really you can do.
